Tsunami Zones and Sunshine: A Comedic Cautionary Tale
Alright, folks, gather ’round! I’ve got a delightful little story about my last excursion to Pebble Beach. Picture this: the sun is shining, a light breeze is tossing my hair (you know, like in those shampoo commercials where everything’s perfect), and I’m meandering along, feeling like the poster child for outdoor bliss. But then—BOOM! I spot it—an ominously cheerful “Tsunami Hazard Zone” sign. Just what I needed to add a splash of reality to my sun-soaked day!
Now, nothing screams “relaxation” quite like the reminder that Mother Nature can go all Godzilla on your beach plans faster than you can say, “I forgot to pack sunscreen!” So there I am, striking a pose next to this foreboding sign—thumbs up, smile plastered across my face, as if to say, “Hey world, I’m totally calm about this impending doom!” Because what’s a beach day without a dash of existential dread, right?
You know how it goes: you’re happily frolicking in golden sands, and then, wham! You’re contemplating the deep philosophical question of why you didn’t check for tsunami warnings before deciding to live your best beach life. The sign reads, “In case of earthquake, go to high ground or inland.” Oh, fantastic! As if I was planning to have a leisurely jog while dodging 30-foot waves! Talk about cardio motivation on another level!
It’s a Tsunami of Showtime!
But here’s the kicker—I’ve got some exciting news to share while I ponder the ocean’s unpredictable temperament. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be part of the Shutterbuggin’ show at the City Arts Center in Round Rock, running January 9th through March 8th, with an opening reception on February 14th at 6 PM.
Not only that, but I’m also included in Pixel Panorama, a Virtual Exhibit on view in the City Arts Center Digital Display during the same time frame.
And that’s not all, folks! My work will also be featured in the New Beginnings show at the Avery Building on the Texas State University Round Rock Campus, running from January 21st to March 15th. Who knew dodging tsunamis could lead to showcasing art, right?
Riding the YouTube Wave
And if you’re feeling adventurous (and maybe a little curious), my presentation to the North Austin Pfotographic Society is now online! You can watch the YouTube presentation https://youtu.be/VcmpJIyZP2Y?si=DwiKmaM9Xk46ofCa. This was a continuation of my earlier presentation that you can discover here. Grab some popcorn and prepare for an intellectual thrill ride!
So, as I soak in the sandy splendor, let’s remember the irony that life loves to throw our way—sunshine and surf on one hand, and a potential wave of doom on the other. Because what’s a beach trip without a reminder that the unpredictable nature of life is just a heartbeat away from chaos?
Cheers to sun, sand, and the delightful unpredictability of life! Catch you at high ground (with snacks in hand, obviously)! 🌊🏖️✨
Until next time…
