It’s a new year, it’s a new you! This past week, I spoke to the North Austin Pfotographic Society (NAPFS) about getting work out there, basically the topic of artist marketing.
Participating in organizations like photo or fine art clubs are great, they can help you create better images or compositions, but what do you do once you start amassing off of these images? A lot of times the clubs kind of leave you flat here. Sure, they maybe have a group show every once in a while, but, sooner or later, you’ll find you have a hard drive full of images and little else to show for it.
Marketing is hard for artists and it can be even harder when you are a hobbyist. You have precious little “extra” time and, let’s face it, what little “extra” time you DO have, well, you don’t want to spend doing artist marketing “foof.” What to do, what to do?
I cobbled together some ideas for the club and even discussed some things like Imposter Syndrome and Tiara Syndrome, basically putting yourself in the right mindset for getting your work to the next level or eliminating some of the barriers to artist marketing.
In these presentations, I shared ideas on how photographers can move work to the next level, be it getting gallery shows, paying clients, publication credits, or helping those in need with your photography. In this latest installment, I shared some AI-based tools that many photographers are now using to help them with their artist marketing tasks.
This is a continuation of the presentation that I did back in June called, “Getting Your Work to the Next Level”. That presentation can be seen here.
I hope you find it useful and that this series maybe helps get your work to the next level, whatever that might mean to you.
Until next time…
