
A taste of the abstract shared with you today to kickoff a new Opportunity List. Here are some places that are looking for art and photography right now:
- If you are local to the Austin area, the Georgetown Library has a call for submissions. You can find details at their link.
- The Chateau Gallery has a call for their upcoming exhibit exploring the theme “The Surreal.” You can find entry information here.
- Midwest Nice Art has a call for work exploring the theme “A fervent and necessary arrangement.” I think they get the award for the most creative theme with this one! The title comes from a phrase taken from the poem “Sometimes” by Mary Oliver and refers to, “the emotional unknown between life and death.” This is an all media, reduced cost show and you can find additional details on their website.
- Decagon Gallery has a call for photography. Juried by Tom Chambers, it’s exploring the theme “Chiaroscuro The Art of Light and Shadow.” You can find additional information on their page.
- The Nat Photo Society has an open contest. Exploring “Flowers” in all their glory, you can submit your floral based images here.
- For those local to Texas, Round Rock Arts has a call for “Abstractions.” You can find entry information and additional details at their link.
- For photographers, Float Magazine has a call for an upcoming Zine called “Good Impactful Photography.” You can find submission details on their site.
- PH21 Gallery has a call for their show exploring the theme “Significant Colour.” You can find entry details on their site.
- Praxis Gallery has a call for entries exploring “The Shape of Things.” This is exploring the art of composition. You can find more details and enter your work on their website here.
- Blue Koi Gallery has a call for their upcoming exhibition exploring the theme “Wild & Tamed.” This is an online show, is all media, and you can find additional details on their page.
- PJAS has an upcoming all media show called “Embracing Creativity.” This comes with a cash award. They have a bunch of calls on their page which you can visit here.
- PEP in Berlin has an open call for their upcoming “De-Constructed.” This is for photographers. You can find additional info here.
- SoHo Photo Gallery has a portfolio competition open for submissions. You can find details and submit your portfolio on their site.
- Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) has a call for their upcoming Members show. While you are on their website, I recommend you checkout their education section where you will see my upcoming online workshop listed among the offerings. - If you are a photographer and you have ever wanted to have one of your images on display in Spain, here is your chance. The Getxophoto festival is having something called “popular participation.” From what I can gather, the way it works is that you can take a photo and submit it to them. They will select from those submitted and display in shops around Algorta, Spain as part of the festival. Read more about the process and submit your work on their website.
- Black Box Gallery has a call for photographers exploring the theme “Focus: Trees and Water.” You can submit your work here.
- A. Smith Gallery has a call for photography exploring the theme “Elsewhere.” You can read details and enter your work on their webpage.
- The Atlanta Photography Group has a call exploring the theme “Photo as Object.” This is for one of a kind images and you can find more information and submit you work on their page.
- Viewpoint Gallery has an international photography competition. This is an opportunity to show your work in the gallery. You can find entry details here.
- Crossroads Art Center has an all media call for entries. You can find entry information here.
