Recently, I’d been going over my finances and I realized that I was spending a bit too much on Zoom. A while back, I recorded a bunch of art sessions, stored them in my Zoom account, and intended to upload them in the proverbial “somewhere” out there. Not sure what to do with them, I left them in my Zoom account. Zoom has recently redone their pricing and now they are charging more for the cloud storage, so the fees kicked in, resulting in the bill. Here is one of the first ones, called “Coffee with Carol,” recorded for the studio tour and now shared on my YouTube channel.
It was kind of fun watching these sessions, done during COVID. It’s interesting to see the sessions and relive some of those days (well, minus that whole pandemic part.) I started downloading all of the sessions and am putting them on my YouTube channel to share them.
An interesting thing about YouTube is that I never really planned to do all that much with it. I mean, I’m not really a video creator in the true sense. Sure, sometimes I do make little videos, and nowadays there is a lot of behind the scenes videos that get created over the course of what I do, but I never thought of myself as a “video creator.” Not like a movie director or somebody who makes videos for a corporation, nothing like that. Even so, I thought YouTube was probably the best place for them, so I’ve been uploading them there, in their new happy home.
Another interesting thing about YouTube is that, as soon as you mention you uploaded a video there, you get attacked by people selling you services to “improve your YouTube monetization.” They offer things like optimizing your thumbnails and other services. Frankly, I never knew my thumbnails were in need of optimization, thank you very much.
Honestly, I am not doing this for any kind of money, just really sharing because I had the videos and might as well put them somewhere, right? Anyway, if you are interested, check out my YouTube channel. I think the YouTube speak is to subscribe if you want to follow along with the rest of the video series.
This one is “Coffee with Carol” and was the kickoff session for the Austin Studio Tour. When I’m not swilling a Cuba Libre in Old Havana, I do enjoy a good cuppa. I hope you enjoy the video with your own personal beverage of choice, be it coffee or a Cuba Libre.
Until next time…
