See me? I am a Woman

I am a woman. Do you see me?

I cook your meals and clean you cloths, raise your children and wear red lipstick when the time is right. I can do many things, actually, if given a chance. I allowed to drive in most countries. I am a woman. I don pink hats, high heels, maybe even a skirt that swirls when I dance. With eye shadow and painted nails I keep the home fires burning. I know how to make a sandwich. I run the vacuum and read to the kids before bed. I can ride a horse and measure an accurate cup of flour.

I am a woman. I am a student, a police officer, a pilot, a model, a restaurant owner. I started and run my own business. I am studying physics and hope to one day become an astronaut. I am a dog groomer and a babysitter. I am an artist, an attorney, a dentist. I am a woman.

I am a woman. This is my face. These are my portraits. Can you see me now?

I am a woman. Do you see me now? Or, do you just walk right past me on your way to being you. Would you ever stop to look? Would you ever stop to think? Would you ever stop to see me? I mean really see me, see me as I am not how you want me to be. See the real me, for I am a woman.

Do you see me now? Did I make you look? Did I make you think? I am a woman. You can see me now. I hope I made you think.

I am a woman. This is my face. These are my portraits. I hope you see me.

I am a woman.

Until next time…
