Tea & Travel

You are cordially invited! I know many folks can’t travel right now on account of COVID (bummer!) but we can all travel virtually. You’re invited to join me on my next “trip” (as it were) to beautiful Guilin, China. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “what kind of sorcery is this?” but allow me to explain. You see, we were supposed to have an installed exhibition of this work, but COVID had other plans. At first, the show was delayed, we were going to install a month later, but then COVID didn’t back down and the Austin Asian American Resource Center (AARC) remained closed. Rather than risk a site installation in the time of COVID, we decided to go virtual. We’re going to hold a virtual exhibition over Zoom.

The good folks at AARC have put together a virtual exhibit. Called “Tea & Travel” I will be joining a panel of photographers talking about our travels in Asia. Please brew a cup of tea, grab you favorite beverage of choice, pull up a chair, and take a “journey” with us. It’s free and I promise no jet lag!

They’ve set this up as a Zoom call and Facebook event (with spillover) and even have a fancy Zoom so you can RSVP and enter into a waiting room (oh, fancy!) Don’t worry about the fancy Zoom, however, the cost is free. Like I said, no boarding passes, no jet lag, no customs officials, just you, me, and tea.

I hope you can join me on what promises to be a wonderful adventure, even if you don’t get out of your pajamas (don’t worry, I promise I won’t tell!) Tea & Travel, it’s a thing. Won’t you join me?
