Opportunity Weekend – September 15th

Opportunity, like weeds, grows in one’s garden. You just have to know how to cultivate it. And, of course, you have to get after it. So, without further ado, here are some opportunities for you this weekend:

• The International Color Awards have a call for entries. To submit your work, check out this link: https://www.colorawards.com/how-to-enter.html
• For those of you in the Austin area, it’s now time to submit work for consideration in The People’s Gallery. This is artwork to be available on loan to the City of Austin and displayed inside of the City Hall building. This is a great opportunity and one I have participated in for past years. • Monmouth Museum has an all media call for entries exploring the theme, “Hope for the Holidays.” You can submit your work at the following link: https://monmouthmuseum.submittable.com/submit

• The folks at the VII photo agency are offering a workshop and a few scholarships, including a scholarship for a female photographer, in Beijing, China. Details and application at the following link: http://zonefoto.net/index.php/programs/workshops/
• Finally, there is a fine art auction to benefit the Rockport Center for the Arts. Not my usual opportunity posting, but this is an opportunity to get a print at a fabulous price and help out the Rockport Center, which was badly damaged in Hurricane Harvey (Rockport, Texas took a direct hit from the storm.)
