Flying Demons

This one sort of goes with the darkness goat so, here it is.

I’ve been tossing around the idea of going to Mexico in the fall. I really wanted to go to Oxacha in November, for the day of the dead, now I’m not certain that I will do it. I have been checking out (thanks to Kathy) some other photo workshops, thinking about where I want to go. I would like to do a workshop at some point, just because it’s been years since I’ve had any formal training, and I don’t want to get all stale and all.

I have been wanting to get back into some nature photography, doing it the way I do (of course.) I started, once (a long time ago) a series of patterns in nature, and really enjoyed working on that. I’ll have to continue that again, at some point, when it’s not so hot outside.

If anybody knows what’s with the fluffy crosses, please do let me know. I’m not quite certain of their significance in voodoo culture, although they do make for really intesesting photographs. Much more 3-D than a regular, “plain,” flat cross, I suppose.

It’s been really hot in River City, but I’ve managed to “play” inside this summer, with the Polaroids and the computer a bit. Coming up to speed with Photoshop, and getting to the point where I can “paint” with it, is one of my major goals. I almost have my studio (digital studio, that is) to the point where it’s right where I want it.

Until next time…
