It’s spring and that means it’s time to get all floral on you. Ah, flowers! Nature’s way of reminding us that even in the calamity of life, there’s beauty to be found—if you can dodge the bees, that is. Take a gander at this vibrant garden scene, where pink petals are strutting their stuff like they just walked off a runway in Paris. Seriously, if flowers had Instagram accounts, these beauties would be racking up followers faster than cat videos.
Now, let’s talk about the drama unfolding here. On the left, we have the shy, slightly awkward flower, all spiky and unsure of itself. It’s like that friend who shows up to a party in a questionable outfit but somehow pulls it off. And then there’s the bold, confident pink flower on the right, flaunting its vibrant hues and sunny center like it owns the place. You can almost hear it saying, “Look at me! I’m fabulous!”
But let’s not forget the backdrop—lush greenery that’s basically the flower’s hype squad. It’s like the supportive friend who always cheers you on, even when you’re just trying to figure out how to open a jar of pickles.
And those droplets of water? Pure magic. They’re like nature’s little diamonds, glistening and catching the light, reminding us that even the simplest things can shine if you give them a moment in the spotlight.
I happened upon this springtime fashion show this past week while out exploring one of my favorite photographic haunts. Yes, it’s spring and that means it’s time to visit the Borrowed Garden. A few times this past week I’ve set out to visit the Hill Country Water Gardens because, while the bluebonnets were kind of a dud this year, and the water lilies are not quite here yet, the garden center has an abundance of potted plants.
There are a ton of daisies, calla lilies, cone flowers, and even something called a blanket flower. There were plants all soft and cuddly and plants that looked like daisies at a punk rock festival. Seriously, did you know daisies did Coachella? I didn’t! But they were all there at the garden center, lined up like a Paris fashion show, colors all around with a touch of raindrops from the recent springtime storms.
So, what’s the takeaway here? Life is a garden, folks. Sometimes you’re the bold pink flower, and sometimes you’re the awkward one trying to find your place. But whether you’re blooming or just hanging out, remember to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the ride. And if you happen to get stung by a bee along the way, well, at least you’ll have a story to tell!
Now, go out there and embrace your inner flower—just maybe steer clear of the bees.
Until next time…
