Best of 2018 – My Top Images

It’s time to look back and take stock of the crop of images for the year. Here is my 2018 selection:

Details for each image are as follows:
1. “Lush Lily Pads,” shot at the water gardens after a rain storm.
2. “Water Flower,” shot over the summer in the bog.
3. “Half of a Flower,” also from the water gardens, this is a close up of a water lily in full bloom.
4. “A Natural Blush,” this one shot in the gardens with shallow focus.
5. “Dancing Nature,” from the gardens, this one also shallow focus.
6. “There is a Price on My Head,” included from the water gardens series in part because I thought it was funny. Taken over the summer when I got stuck in a palapa next to a giant head due to an unseasonal rain storm. Well, it made me laugh anyway, I hope you enjoy it too.
7. “Lace Curtains, Red Porch,” from my weekend in New England, this one shot in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I love these kind of shots so thought fit to include it on my list.
8. “Old as Adam,” from downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, shot back in May when I traveled up there for an opening, this is one of the quaint shops you find as you walk around the waterfront area.
9. “Clouds,” I love doing these. This one from over the summer. Just looking up at the sky and shooting.
10. “Stars in the Sky,” from Austin’s Trail of Lights, part of the light display, also looking up.

It looks like the water gardens dominated my shooting for this year, as I did not get to travel as much as I would have liked. There is also considerably less architecture this time, more nature, but I guess that is to be expected as well, seeing as I have been shooting the water gardens a lot lately for licensing and such.

I hope you had a great 2018 photographically (and other ways too) and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for all of us. Happy shooting out there!

Until next time…
