As I was saying, before I was so RUDELY INTERRUPTED….
Welcome to Carol’s Little World! What a long strange trip these past few weeks have been. It happened one day. You see, I was minding my own business when, rather out of the blue, I happened to notice that the folks over at Google (who run Blogger by the way) had locked my blog. Something about a “terms of service violation” although they never told me what the specific violation in question was. No, they just locked my blog. When I logged into my dashboard, I saw a big red exclamation point with a message saying, “Your Block Has Been Locked and Will be Deleted in xXX days.” Oh, the nerve! What had I done? Thank goodness I noticed this! Otherwise, they might have just gone on and deleted it.
There was an option to request a review, which I did but then the wonderful machine told me this might take 6 weeks or more. Right then and there I decided I did not want to play these stupid games any longer. After 20 years of blogging, of being a proud blogger on Google’s platform, they just locked me out, attempted to delete my blog, and didn’t even give me an email indicating the same? Wow! Google, you fall short, you really fall short here.
So, I decided it was time to move over to the big league anyway.
And that, my friends, is how I ended up in WordPress land. Now, I know this is not very interesting to most of you. You come here for the pictures, right? And the crazy stories of the travels. That crazy lady on the flight back from Houston with me? Yeah, you are more interested in her (although, you might want to be careful with that one!) It’s not about the blogging crap, it’s never been about the blogging crap. The blogging crap? That’s just a machine that brings you the stories. Frankly, I want to keep it that way too. I don’t want to go into all of the gory details of how I create this site because, well, it’s not about the machine, right? It’s about the stories.
On that front, I’m happy to say the stories will continue. We are just now over on a new site, a new location, a spiffy new domain. No worries if you don’t understand exactly what that means even, just know the stories will continue, at least I hope to continue them, just with a new delivery machine.
Don’t sweat it! We’re good here. Onward, through the fog!
I selected this image as my new genesis of sorts, because it is actually a double exposure. It has my red boots, quite literally my feet on the ground. I’ve got roots, don’t you know? Alongside of that, we have the yellow leaves of autumn. We have roots, yes, but we also have wings or, in this case, leaves. We’re moving forward, making new tracks, here in Carol’s Little World.
