Seashore

Maybe because it’s summer or maybe because it’s been so hot but, lately anyway, I’ve been feeling a real desire to go to the seashore again.

For the folks who live near the shore, it’s great to be able to get out and go there whenever you want. For those of us “trapped” in the middle of the country, well, the seashore can be a hard thing. It drags on us, in a way. We sometimes just wish we were there.

If I had all the money in the world, I’d probably run off and buy some dream home in Santa Fe. You know those kind of places-the adobe palaces with all of the artwork and the really cool red throw pillows on the couch. Heck, I’d even tolerate some of that New Mexico mountain snow in the wintertime. I love it there and really like the architecture that much.

But, part of me, secretly, would still dream about having some sort of Balinese-style home on the beach, with a great deck overlooking the waves and the shoreline.

Until next time…

Who could tire of a view like that?! However, speaking as a cliff-top seaside dweller, let me tell you that sea 'breezes' are sometimes significantly more than 'refreshing'!

Yes, Postcards, I would imagine. I bet you get some serious wind whipping off that shoreline?

A cliff-top seaside dweller? Hmmm. I wish there were some way to get Santa Fe and Hawaii together into one place. I *so* would move *there* in a heartbeat.

Santa Fe and Hawaii rolled into one…? Well, look no further. My little island is just the ticket. Except for the rain. And the cool temperatures. And the warm beer where you might crave tequila. Oh, and no beautiful Hawaiian dancers, but we do have the occasional Morris Dancer. I know, I know, you want me to stop – you're finding it hard to resist!

Now, Postcards, you know I'd love to come and visit. I love almost anyplace on the planet but your little island home does seem very magical. You have nice grasses and wonderful light. Morris Dancers and a beautiful shoreline. Wild cow! and colorful sands as well as castles. What's not to like about that? Oh, and the yacht races. The winding country roads, the roses….the list goes on.

There are only a few places on earth where I would not want to visit actually. Oh to have more time.

BTW, it looks like Iceland might be next on the list. *Fingers crossed*
